Tina’s Wish, a nonprofit organization that funds research for early detection of ovarian cancer, will be honoring former President Bill Clinton, also the founder of the Clinton Foundation, for supporting the cause of women’s health globally.

The event, taking place at the Waldorf Astoria New York on Tuesday, April 14 at 6 p.m., will present Clinton with the inaugural Tina’s Wish Global Women’s Health award during the reception, according to the official press release.

“The Tina’s Wish Global Women’s Health Award was created to honor individuals whose contributions to the betterment of women’s health have been extraordinary,” said Andrew Brozman, Tina’s husband and member of the board of directors of Tina’s Wish.  “Both Tina’s Wish and the Clinton Foundation were founded on the principle that turning an idea into action is best done through collaboration.  We are proud to have President Bill Clinton as our first recipient.”

After leaving the White House, President Clinton started the Clinton Foundation with the mission to improve global health, strengthen economies, promote health and wellness, and protect the environment.

Tina’s Wish honors the memory of Tina Brozman, a former chief judge of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York, who died at the age of 54 after her two-year long battle with ovarian cancer.

Since 2008 when the foundation started, Tina’s Wish has raised over $5.5 million for ovarian cancer research grants and created the Tina Brozman Ovarian Cancer Research Consortium which brings together world class scientists from prestigious institutions to collaborate for research on early detection and prevention. In just six short years, Tina’s Wish has become the third largest private funding source dedicated to ovarian cancer research.

If you would like to attend the event, tickets for the award reception are available for purchase HERE, with all the proceeds benefitting Tina’s Wish.
