The South Street Seaport Museum will begin a new expanded schedule of its MiniMATES Program in just a few weeks! Aimed at children 18 months to four years, the program allows adults and their children to partake in fun, educational activities headed by one of the museum’s educators. The class sizes are fairly small, allowing for families to bond with one another as they play and learn. The class themes include everything from water to boats to the changing seasons and are taught through arts and crafts, music, movement and hands-on experiences.

Sessions will be held on Thursdays and Fridays from September 10th to November 20th. The schedule allows for sessions on two separate days, which gives more families a chance to get in on the fun. The program allows for everyone, young and old, to experience the many educational resources that the South Street Seaport Museum has to offer. Since 1967, the museum has been showcasing New York’s compelling history as a port city through its galleries, performance spaces, library and fleet of historic vessels. A typical MiniMates class lasts for about an hour and 15 minutes and is limited to 12 students. Registration is now open so reserve space for your child by email at education@seany.org or by calling 212-748-8753.
