Co-produced by Beth Morrison Projects and HERE, this annual festival showcases local and global opera-theatre and music-theater productions by contemporary artists. Showcased at various different venues around the city, the productions range from contemporary to post-classical to multi-disciplinary.

Beth Morrison Projects (BMP) supports both emerging and established artists that are taking risks in their creative fields while HERE supports artists and helps them develop and succeed in their career goals.

Opera and music-theatre are mediums with rich, extensive histories that are being transformed by innovative contemporary composers. The festival serves as a resource for them to show their work, which may be considered decidedly unconventional for the medium. They also serve as a global link between artistic performance ventures all over the world.

Opera fans can look forward to boundary-pushing settings and themes that elevate and reinterpret what music-theater can be. Those who are not fans should also check out a show and experience the unexpected thrill and joy that can be had.

The various shows will run through January 17th. Additional info and ticketing information can be found on the Prototype Festival website.
