On Sunday, Aug. 14, the AIANY Women in Architecture Committee invites all for an afternoon of educational yachting. At 1:30 PM, the 1920s-style yacht The Manhattan will depart from Chelsea Piers’ Pier 62 — located at West 22nd St. and the Hudson River — for a tour of the city skyline with a focus on women’s architectural contributions.

Guest speakers include Claire Weisz of architecture-and-design firm WXY, which co-designed the city’s iconic Spring Street Salt Shed; Signe Nielsen of Mathews Nielsen Landscape Architects, which built sections of Hudson River Park; and Caroline Weiss of Thornton Tomasetti, which has contributed to nearly every bridge in the five boroughs. Julie Engh, co-chair of the AIANY Architecture Tour Committee, will be the lead docent. Snacks and refreshments will be served, including one complimentary beer, wine, or champagne.

Tickets are $50 and can be purchased here.
