NATIONAL ARTS CLUB FLATTPRIZE Residency Award + FLATT Book Launch 6 with Robert DeNiro on the Cover

FLATT celebrated its sixth book release with Robert De Niro on the cover and the arrival of FLATTPRIZE residency winner and Costa Rican painter, Fabrizio Arrieta who was chosen for a six-month residency in The National Arts Club last week.

More than 400 art and fashion enthusiasts including actors Matthew Modine, model Andrej Pejic, designer Maggie Norris, Ralph Lauren model Morgan O’ConnorJean ShafiroffNur KhanConsuelo Vanderbilt Costin, Anthony Haden Guest, Leesa Rowland and Jean Shafiroff gathered at the venerable club at 15 Gramercy Park South to join FLATT editor-in-chief Christina Lessa, publisher Andrew Martin Weber and National Arts Club Director of Fine Arts Dianne B. Bernhard for the celebratory evening.

The night kicked off with a cocktail reception, where guests enjoyed Purity Vodka cocktails, Grace Hightower’s Coffee of Rwanda and hors d’oeuvres. DJs QuestloveElle Dee and Timo Weiland spun throughout the evening and revelers got to experience a special 4D live music performance by Australian band goodbyemotel.

Founded in 2010, FLATT is a philanthropic arts platform that sponsors and celebrates creativity across all disciplines, including science, the visual arts, film, dance, performance, music, writing, and poetry. In addition to its quarterly eponymous print book, whose subjects range from Cher, Robert De Niro and Bruce Weber, to Mickalene Thomas and The Metropolitan Opera, FLATT recognizes talent, authenticity, and the rigor that drives the creative process by awarding an annual FLATTPRIZE.
