‘Girls’

Premiere Date: January 11

Though it already premiered, the season 4 of ‘Girls’ is one that should not be missed. Created by and starring Lena Dunham, the show follows the lives of four girls in their mid-20s living in New York City. The show’s plot and main character are loosely based on Dunham’s real life experiences. It also stars Alison Williams, Jemima Kirke, Zosia Mamet and Adam Driver as other recurring main characters.

The show focuses mainly on Hannah, played by Dunham, as an aspiring writer who gets a shock when her parents announce that they will no longer be financially supporting her. She is left to fend for herself in Brooklyn as she navigates through her twenties, along with the support of her friends.

If you haven’t caught up on season 4 yet, it is only 3 episodes in. The season picks up where the 3rd one left off, with *SPOILER ALERT* Hannah (Dunham) relocating to Iowa to attend grad school. Marnie (Williams) and her musical collaborator, Desi, are now involved in a sexual relationship with each other, despite Desi having a girlfriend. Shoshanna (Mamet), is now a college graduate, and Jessa (Kirke) has finally started to grow up with the help of a maternal figure, Beadie.

The series has received overall positive reviews, with season 4 getting an 83% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. ‘Girls’ airs on HBO on Sundays at 10PM.
