Runway Trend: Slicked Back Hair

Celine

At the Celine Spring 2015 Runway Show the models donned slicked back ‘dos. We love this style and it’s initially grungy feel that surprises us when we see that’s its merely a half-up-half-down look with a barrette to tie it all together.

Another version of the slicked back hair can be found on UK Vogue’s November cover. Taylor Swift instagrammed her cover and we love how girly the hair style can feel when paired with pastel and feminine clothes.

DOWNTOWN got the inside scoop on how to recreate the look from Redken consultant, Guido. The Redken team was behind Celine’s runway look and gave us step by step directions on how to do it at home. They also advised us on which Redken Products were used.

How-to Create the Look:

1. Wash hair using Extreme Hair Strengthening Shampoo and Conditioner.

2. Mist Pillow Proof Blow Dry Express Primer all over damp hair. If working with straight hair, let dry. If hair is wavy or curly, blow-dry hair using a round brush.

3. Gather top half of hair and apply a light midst of Pillow Proof Blow Dry Two Day Extender, layered with Wind Blown 05 Dry Finishing Spray for light texture.

4. Secure with barrette.
