SEO’s Annual Awards Dinner Raises Over $3.8 Million

On April 20th, Sponsors for Educational Opportunity (SEO) hosted their 13th annual Awards Dinner at the Waldorf Astoria and raised more than $3.8 million. Dinner Chairman Kenneth B. Mehlman of Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & co. raised over $1 million of the donations himself.

David Ushery of News 4 New York did a wonderful job of hosting the event. Through the course of the evening six SEO Scholars shared the impact the program has had on their lives, giving attendees an important look into the work the organization does as well as the families and students they help.

The dinner also honored three individuals for their hard work and contribution to the organization. The honorees were Congresswoman Terri A. Sewell, former U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan and Chairman Americas, UBS Robert J. McCann.
