NYC Restaurant Week: Where to Go Downtown

NYC’s Restaurant Week 2015 is quickly approaching, starting on February 16 and running until March 6.  The event offers New Yorkers and visitors three weeks worth of dining deals at over 340 restaurants in the city, excluding Saturdays and Sundays optional. Diners can enjoy a three-course prix-fixe lunch or dinner, priced at $25 and $38 (excluding beverages, taxes, and gratuity), respectively. The Financial District, known for being the home to numerous international financial institutions, has also recently become a hub for many buzzed-about restaurants. Here are some that will be participating in Restaurant Week that you should definitely check out:

 

Spice Market

Spice Market has been one of New York’s favorite Asian eateries since opening its doors in 2004. Delicious authentic street style cuisine developed by head chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten is served in a casual yet vibrant atmosphere, making for the perfect dining experience. The restaurant is filled with unique artifacts, custom made furniture and antique decorations inspired by the eastern world. Lafayette

Located in the trendy NoHo district, Lafayette is an upscale French restaurant, offering a delicious bistro menu inspired by the very best fresh market produce. The restaurant is housed inside an iconic landmarked building on the corner of Lafayette and Great Jones Street and is open from morning till late at night. Mercer Kitchen

This hip New York hotspot is Located at the base of SoHo’s Mercer Hotel, on the corner or Prince and Mercer street. This in-house eatery is open to the public seven days per week, offering a delicious Mediterranean fusion menu that is unique to each season. Whether it’s a gourmet wood fired pizza you’re after, or the famous Mercer burger, nothing at this establishment will disappoint. BLT Bar and Grill

Serving new American cuisine, BLT Bar & Grill is a modern tavern featuring updates of classic American bar food with a wide selection of cocktails, beer and wine. The bar is a large and inviting place to sit back and enjoy a drink after a long day at work. Cipriani’s Wall Street

Having many locations throughout the city, Cipriani’s on Wall Street is one that should not be missed. With its warm interior and beautiful balcony overlooking the Financial District, it is the perfect place for a business lunch or dinner. Cipriani’s menu offers a variety of delicious Venetian and Italian specialities, including their signature Bellini, carpaccio and famous baked tagliolini from Harry’s Bar in Venice. Delmonico’s Restaurant

Operating since 1837, Delmonico’s is the definition of an old-school steakhouse. They revolutionized the way Americans eat out, and basically invented dishes such as the Eggs Benedict, Lobster Newburg and the Baked Alaska. Les Halles

This is the second branch of the famous French bistro, made famous by its globetrotting chef Anthony Bourdain. The menu is a compilation of French classics served from brasseries all over Paris, including coq au vin, steak au poivre, and steak frites. This classic NYC steakhouse opened its doors in 2001, and has offered a casual yet elegant dining experience with traditional menu items such as steak and seafood. Chefs hand-select the meats, which are treated with the utmost care to ensure that diners are served the best quality meats. 2 West, The Ritz-Carlton New York, Battery Park’s restaurant, is an American bistro that provides guests with succulent food in an elegant atmosphere.
