With the official ruling from the Supreme Court that same-sex marriage is legal in all 50 states, the LBGT community and its supporters had even more of a reason to celebrate pride on Sunday at its annual Pride March.
Hundreds of thousands lined the streets as marchers made their way from Midtown to the West Village. According to officials, this year’s march could have been the largest crowd the event has ever seen since its start 45 years ago. The event kicked off at noon, headed by grand marshals Sir Ian McKellen and Sir Derek Jacobi who were joined by NYC Mayor, Bill de Blasio.
Many sponsors, supporters, and various LBGT advocacy groups all participated in the march, with many going all out in full costumes, hair and makeup.
