The NYC Half Marathon, hosted by the New York Road Runners, is coming to Manhattan on Sunday, March 15th. The 13.1 mile course will start in Central Park near East 72nd Street, and will wind its way around the park traveling through Midtown, and ending at Water and Wall Street in downtown Manhattan.

The run starts at 7:30am, however, runners will be released onto the course in waves. It is recommended that runners arrive at Central Park South at least 40 minutes before their wave is scheduled to start running.

Every runner will receive a certificate for finishing the race, however, the top 12 finishers in both the men’s and women’s categories will receive prize money, with the first-place runner earning $20,000.

Runners must attend the 2015 United Airlines NYC Half Expo, which is taking place all day today and tomorrow to pick up their race number, technical shirt, and baggage bag. The expo is also open to the public, where visitors can check out many vendors and NYC Half Marathon merchandise. The expo is at a new location this year: the Skylight at Moynihan Station between Eighth and Ninth avenues.

Also taking place will be the first-ever Times Square kids run, which will give kids the opportunity to stop traffic as they run 1500 meters (nearly a mile) through one of New York’s most iconic venues.

People can come watch the race as the runners make their way through Manhattan, or can watch it live on ABC7. So don’t miss out on one of New York’s biggest events for the spring!
