Starting this weekend, the New York Botanical Gardens will be holding its Orchid Show that will run until April 19. The theme, celebrating the show’s 13th year, will be “Chandeliers,” and will feature a giant star shaped chandelier overflowing with plants as one of the main attractions.

Other exhibits include dozens of large hanging baskets that visitors can stroll under and colorful living columns in the tropical ambience of the Enid A. Haupt Conservatory. Over 6,000 orchids will be represented 2,273 different types, making the NY Botanical Gardens’ orchid collection one of the largest and most diverse in the world.

Guests can expect guided tours, question and answer sessions, lectures, live entertainment, classes and so much more. A more detailed listing of events can be found at the New York Botanical Gardens website.

Ticket prices for adults range from $20-$25 depending on the day, but those who are members of the garden can attend for free.

The Orchid Show is a highlight for spring, and will definitely get you in the mood for the warmer weather. Be sure to get your tickets today and visit the Botanical Gardens for a beautiful and educational experience!
