Movies to Look For This Holiday Season

When you need a break from the festivities, check out these films coming this holiday season!

Yellow Day (PG) – Friday, December 25

A fantasy drama, this family friendly film is a coming of age story on a mythical Yellow Day. While many see Yellow day as an outreach at a kid’s camp, Drew Seely’s character is spiritually guided by God to test his own will. With just a little bit of imagination, he finds his way.

The Revenant (R) – limited release Friday, December 25

The western adventure-thriller is also a biographical epic inspired by frontiersman Hugh Glass. Starring Leonardo DiCaprio as Glass, the film follows him as he is left for dead by fellow trappers.

The Hateful 8 (R) – Friday, December 25

Directed by Quentin Tarantino, the upcoming American Western film set after the Civil War involves 8 strangers who find themselves stuck together during a blizzard.

Concussion (PG-13) – Friday, December 25

Will Smith stars as Benner Omalu, the forensic pathologist who faced pressure from the National Football League when he attempted to research the effects of brain damage from concussions suffered by professional football players.

Daddy’s Home (PG) – Friday, December 25

It’s step-dad against real dad in Daddy’s Home where mild mannered radio executive Will Ferrell is pitted against the much wilder Mark Walberg in a battle for the kids’ affection.

Point Break (R) – Friday, December 25

The remake of the 1991 film now stars Édgar Ramírez, Luke Bracey, Teresa Palmer and Ray Winstone in an American-Chinese co-production.

Joy (PG-13) – Friday, December 25

The biographical dramedy revolves around Joy Mangano (Jennifer Lawrence), a divorced mother of three, as she builds her business empire with the Miracle Mop.
