Not much screams ‘spring’ louder than the warmth of sun soaking into your skin and the sight of flowers in bloom. The season is praised for mother nature’s colorful gifts and as the the first official day of spring finally approaches, the following day, Sunday March 22nd, Macy’s will host their Annual Flower Show. For two weeks, the major department store located in Herald Square will be showcasing floral arrangements spread across the entire store. Shop around, spend a day engaged in activities hosted by the store and, of course, smell the flowers.

The schedule full of events is packed back to back spanning across the two week event. This years title is “Art in Bloom,” covering the store in flowers from floor to ceiling. Beginning at noon, the first few activities are hosted by a few celebrities. Martha Stewart will be revealing her new cookbook, Clean Slate:A Cookbook and Guide: Reset your Health, Detox Your Body, and Feel Your Best. Other guest appearances include designer Michael Storrings and Japanese artist Choco Moo.

Family friendly activities will be scattered all over each floor of the department store, ranging from Chinese cultural crafts and calligraphy tables. Kids can spend time at painting events hosted by Pepperidge Farm and Goldfish.

After that, venture over the the Tommy Hilfiger section and purchase a polo or woven shirt and receive a free monogramming of your choice. After this, the brand Impluse will be hosting a shopping party where they’ll be creating fresh floral head wreaths for all shoppers.

The week culminates on April 4th with Breakfast with the Easter Bunny. Parents and children can enjoy face painting, food, and balloons! Reservations for the breakfast should be made by March 27th.
