Renowned Michelin-star chef Joel Robuchon to bring his famed L’Atelier restaurant to Brookfield Place this March. Brookfield Place, already promising to be a star studded epicenter of the fashion world with its tenant list, boasting such recognizable names as Saks Fifth Ave, Hermès, Omega, Salvatore Ferragamo, and more, is bringing the culinary star power as well.
Last summer Brookfield Place opened its Hudson Eats eating complex with its wide variety of delectable choices from Umami Burger to Blue Ribbon Sushi and it has shown be popular dining destination. For a more formal dining experience, L’Atelier, a Michelin-star restaurant, will soon be an option for diners. A global sensation, first opening in Paris in 2003, the restaurant has since opened in multiple locations throughout the world including Las Vegas at the MGM Hotel, London, Hong Kong, Taipei, and Singapore.
Inspired by “counter cuisine” such as tapas in Spain, sushi in Japan, and the bistros found in the Mediterranean, Joel Robuchon has taken this method of dining and has infused it with his own techniques to create simplistic dishes that are made with great precision and the highest quality of ingredients. The focus piece for L’Atelier will be a counter area where patrons will be able to view their food being prepared for them, further connecting the cooking experiencing and dining experience. A formal sitting are will also be available along with an outside sitting area, where the diners will have a prime view of the Hudson River and the Statue of Liberty, a perfect addition to a great meal.
The restaurant is set to open in March and is located on 250 Vesey St.
