Summer’s not over just yet. And for 17-year-old Harrison Geller, that means there’s still time to serve his homemade gelato before heading back to LaGuardia High School for his senior year. His pop-up gelato shop, Polpo Gelato, opened Saturday in LESpace, located at 201 Allen St. on the Lower East Side.

The gelato, prepared by the teen himself, is made with fresh ingredients from local farms and purveyors. Geller mastered his technique during his time in Umbria, Italy, where he studied farm to table cooking.

The shop will be open through the end of August, with the eight available flavors changing throughout the week. Opening day’s assortment featured a mix of classics and originals including ricotta stracciatella, Sicilian pistachio and sheep’s milk Fior di Latte. For the dairy-free crowd, raspberry and lemon sorbets were also available.

The “classy gelato joint” opens daily at noon, closing at 10 p.m. on weeknights and midnight on the weekends.

LESpace is the former home of Michael Alig’s paintings and Los Perros Locos. By selling his gelato at a pop up shop, the young expert is able to share his passion without any long-term commitment that might interfere with college prep.
