Here are some exciting events and sites to check out in downtown New York this week, courtesy of Gogobot. Visit the website or download the app for more GoGo This Week upcoming events.

1. Bird’s Eye View NYC

Anastasia Photo (Lower East Side)

Tues-Sun 12-7pm (through Jan 31st)

For a real bird’s eye view of New York City and the surrounding boroughs, check out the spectacular aerial photos from George Steinmetz’s show at Anastasia Photo. The photos will remind goers of the dizzying wonder that is New York.

2. Under the Radar

Public Theater  (East Village)

Wed, Jan 6th-Sun, Jan 17th (check site for showtimes)

Under the Radar Festival showcases new and always innovative works from theater companies around the world. A launching pad for future movements, the festival is a great opportunity to see what works will shift your perspectives and points of view in the coming year.

3. Best of Chelsea Tour

Meet at 526 W. 26th (Chelsea)

Sat, Jan 9th at 1pm & 3:45pm

If your resolution for the new year is to get a little bit more culture in your life, then tag along on the Chelsea Gallery tour which will provide a survey of New York’s Best Chelsea Art Galleries. You will know where to go, what to see and how to look at it.

4. Combined at Combina

Combina (SoHo)

Daily for Lunch and Dinner

While it’s got a lot going on in terms of flavor and influences (Israeli-Spanish with a few pit stops in between) Combina manages to distinguish itself with the decisiveness of flavor and bold creativity of their dishes. The plates are meant for sharing, so grab the Eggplant Escabeche with garlic, dill and yogurt, but you might want the Merguez Burger with feta and pickles and the Malawach Churros with Israeli chocolate all to yourself.

5. Sparkling Den

Riddling Widow (Greenwich Village)

Mon-Sat 6pm-2am

Riddling Widow, a name that tips its hat to Veuve Clicquot, is a subterranean bar, opened this fall, that serves bubbly wines and champagne, almost exclusively. The tiny bar’s red velvet couches and chairs add a touch of dark glam while the bartender’s effervescence make this champagne den super laid back.

6. Burlesque Tuesdays

Hill and Dale (Lower East Side)

Tues, Jan 5th at 9pm

Tuesday is an awful day of the week–it drags, it’s lackluster and seems so far from Humpday Wednesday. We are putting a little spice and umph in our Tuesdays, at least the 1st and 3rd of the month, by hanging at Hill and Dale for their bi-weekly burlesque show hosted by enchanting Ula Uberbusen.

7. A Tribe Called Sweat

Multiple Locations

Check site for class schedules

Yoga is a peaceful practice, but that does not mean one can’t enjoy some tight hip hop beats. The hip hop inspired yoga at Y-7 studios is a 60 minute candle lit session where yogis can let their bodies and minds flow to the likes of Drake and Jay-Z.  Classes start at $22
