Did you fail to follow the royal couple’s itinerary in the Big Apple? The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge brought a lot of buzz to the city as they managed to cover a large portion of the city. After checking into the Carlyle Hotel on the Upper East Side, they retreated downtown to the visit with British advertising legend Sir Martin Sorrell in his Gramercy Park apartment. On their way to dinner the couple was able to pass the Empire State Building, lit up red, white, and blue in honor of their presence in the city.

At Sir Martin’s, they were the guests of honor at an exclusive fundraising dinner in aid of their umbrella charity, the American Friends of the Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry. No guests walked out of Sir Walter’s apartment without donating a minimum $100,000 and many of the guests are said to have donated much larger amounts totaling over $2 million.

The Dutchess of Cambridge spent time touring a developmental center in Harlem as William visited with President Obama in Washington DC. Dozens gathered on the cold Monday morning across the street from the Northside Center for Child Development to see Kate Middleton. Many community members were thrilled with her presence, especially with the number of private schools down the street from the center that they expected her to visit. Middleton was the first of the British Royal family to visit in 2014. The city welcomed Middleton with, “Welcome to New York,” signs along with baby clothes in preparation of the arrival of her second child.

Middleton then joined Prince William at the National 9/11 Memorial and Museum. They then continued on to the Barclays Center Monday night to watch the Nets game versus the Cleveland Cavilers. There, they rubbed shoulders with Beyonce and Jay-Z. The couple then attended a reception at the NeueHouse, in celebration of British talents that are based in New York.

The following day, Prince William joined Mayor de Blasio at the Empire State Building where they visited the observation deck on the 86th Floor and presented the winners of the Great Tech awards with trophies. The level of excitement throughout the city during their three-day, east coast visit has caused the public to highly-anticipate the Duke and Duchesses’ next stay in the US.
