It all started with a vision and a love for their grandmother’s jewelry box. It held everything from family heirlooms to precious gifts from their grandfather, which ignited the flame of inspiration for sisters Irene and Elizabeth Doyle. This was where their love for rich language and ornamentation began to develop.
Today, the two haven’t lost their love for timeless jewelry and currently have their own Doyle & Doyle boutique, located on W 13th St.
Their interest transcends the aesthetic, due to their views on jewelry as a social and cultural archive rather than just the traditional materialistic item. Each of their pieces reveals what was going on in the world during the time it was created. The Doyle & Doyle boutique showcases curated offerings of handpicked vintage, antique and estate pieces. These pieces comprise the Heirloom collection that also features signature pieces by Doyle & Doyle, as well as their West 13th Collection. Although many of the pieces comprise their own personalities, each one binds together the importance of honoring tradition and history. This is why their overall mission is to make sure that each of their clients connects with a piece, or pieces, that speak to them. Their collection of eclectic beautiful jewels is also symbolic in describing the Doyle & Doyle community. As their website states, it is “An ever-expanding global family of compassionate, accepting and confident individuals who lead self-determined lives.”
Due to both sisters’ backgrounds of studying Gemology at the Gemology Institute of America and working as a buyer for one of Manhattan’s premier buyers of colored diamonds, these two have honed in on a gift they both poses in identifying and captivating truly timeless heritage within their line.
