Garrett Popcorn Shops has taken a new twist on your favorite movie snack. With scrumptious flavors such as Smoky CheeseCorn and Pumpkin Spice CaramelCrisp, this Chicago-based company now has shops all over the world. Fans can get a taste of their products in countries such as Thailand, Abu Dubai, and Malaysia.
Downtown was lucky enough to get a taste of some of these delicious flavors. My favorite? Smoky Cheesecorn! Each piece was delicately powdered with rich cheese and the slight hint of barbeque sauce was enough to satisfy my sweet-and-salty craving. And unlike traditional microwave popcorn, each kernel was popped full with a slight crunch. It was no surprise to find out that this flavor was developed for Father’s Day and the summer season; the sauce was more than enough to make me think of outdoor barbeques!
A close runner-up was the Gingerbread CaramelCrisp, which was sprinkled with cinnamon and nutmeg. This was another flavor that perfect for a season. As soon as I bit into it, I thought of a cozy winter day spent eating gingerbread cookies.
These were also perfect for someone who’s conscious about chemicals in their foods. Garrett’s signature blend of kernels is GMO free. In fact, many of these recipes have been passed down within their family, making some over 65 years old! They’re also all-natural and gluten-free.
