Designers and Books Fair 2015

by | Oct 3, 2015 | Book Club, Culture, Events

Starting this weeked and ending Sunday, the Designers & Books Fair will be showcasing the world of design literature.

Designers & Books, a group that advocates for books as a source of creative inspiration, is partnering with the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) to present more than 70 of the top book publishers on fashion design, product design, architecture and more for free to the public.

The Designers and Books Fair is the world’s only book fair dedicated to design. Not only will it be showcasing new titles, but there will also be rare and out-of-print book dealers and indie magazines.

This year, a purchase of a book at the fair by any of the participating authors will result in an automatic entry in over 20 drawings for Experiences with Authors TM. The program allows winners to get the chance to meet with the author for an experienced designed by them. Participating authors include André Leon Talley, the former editor-at-large for Vogue, Chip Kidd, book cover designer, and Louise Fili, noted graphic designer.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Gladys Marcus Library at FIT where some of the fair’s events will be held.
