We can certainly recollect being warned and scolded by grandma about the dangers of eating raw cookie dough. We’ve also had to tap into an inner restraint that we didn’t think was possible when seeing cookie batter. But that’s just the way the cookie crumbles, right? Wrong. Cookie DŌ’s most important facet, besides taste, is that it’s egg free! Meaning, they never have to make a trip to the oven if you choose to devour the dough instantly! Egg allergens and salmonella are a thing of the past with this DŌ.

Gauging which ingredients join forces and comprise the dough, founder Kristen Tomlan admitted the recipe is a secret but states, “We use a pasteurized egg white substitute that is completely safe to eat in it’s un-baked state! It adds protein to the cookie dough and helps bind it together, giving it the smooth texture. It’s the perfect leavening agent for when it’s baked.” But, surely, there’s no guarantee you’ll have the restraint to wait and bake it.

With the conveniency of dough on the go, Cookie DŌ is a ready to eat treat upon order. And, most exciting, Cookie DŌ takes requests! Mixed into the secret formula can be whatever your heart and sweet tooth desires. And there’s a lot to choose from- upon entering the kitchen, we we’re keen on the massive, colorful shelves stocked with just about everything that puts fear into the hearts of dentists. Although, other than creating your personalized recipe, Cookie DŌ also offers special preparation and places designs on top of the dough, upon request.

The dough is available in year-round classic flavors, such as signature chocolate chip, sugar cookie, peanut butter, chocolate chocolate and oatmeal m&m. Signature flavors include chocolate dream, pb&j, salty & sweet, snickerdoodle, confetti, nuts for nuts (a peanut butter lovers dream,) and heavenly- whose title is self spoken. The dough also comes in seasonal flavors, so keep your eye out for festive fall flavors in the months to come.

Contrary to popular belief, the dough doesn’t always have to be sweet, Cookie DŌ even accommodates with their gluten-free, grain-free and vegan formulas that include mixtures of chickpeas and other health conscious ingredients. Everyone can DŌ on the go, meeting all their dietary and lifestyle needs.

As for shelf life, the dough lasts for three months in the freezer, three weeks in the fridge and just about 3 minutes in your hand, (if you’re lucky.)

Not convinced? Check out Cookie DŌ’s instagram and then try and fight the temptation. Place an order on their website, but if you can’t wait a week, (we totally understand,) stop by their location at 737 2nd avenue, walk-in’s are welcome!
