Did you know the Old Seaport neighborhood has a huge array of restaurants, bars, retail, and a mix of merchants open for business? It’s true and its a neighborhood that would benefit from community support. That is the idea behind the Peck Slip School Community Night Out which was created by local PS 343’s parents. In an effort to try to increase foot traffic and promote awareness for the neighborhood, the parents are encouraging a night out of sampling some great food and drink, while socializing and getting together with friends and neighbors.  The merchants have been encouraged to rename an item or two and maybe even offer a special promotion, to entice the community to stop in for some food and drinks. It’s a community crawl, Peck Slip style.

Neighbors are encouraged to invite their friends to the event and to stop by the check in table at the corner of Peck Slip and Front Street, which will offer a birds eye view of the construction site, which will house the newest school. The public school will be located at the former U.S. Post Office and will take on the namesake of the much-visited building.

When – May 3 from 7pm to 10pm.
