On December 12 and 13, Brookfield Place is hosting two days of quiet clubbing. During this event, participants will be hitting the dance floor while listening to music through headphones.
Although this might sound odd to some, it’s a type of event that has become quite popular in some areas of the world. Will Petz, the owner of a quiet clubbing company called Quiet Events, told Digital Trends that these events are a great place for people to connect.
“The first thing you think of is the antisocial guy on the train with his headphones on,” Petz told Digital Trends. “But it’s not like that at all. It’s actually really social. When you put the headphones on, you feel like you’re part of a group — you’re connected with everyone else. Then, when you take them off, you can actually talk to people.”
