When the Super Bowl kicks off for the first time in biggest media center on the planet, New Yorkers and New Jerseyites alike will have plenty to celebrate. This is first time the big game has ever been played outdoors in cold-weather climes and because it’s in the biggest metro-area on earth, Superbowl XLVIII between the Denver Bronco’s and the Seattle Seahawks at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ. has generated more anticipation than any other in history.

That excitement can’t be contained to this coming Super Bowl Sunday. The excitement has extended to many events in both New York and New Jersey throughout Super Bowl Week.

For foodies, one of the All-Star events will kick off tomorrow— the five-day 50 Yard Lounge at One Penn Plaza. Here you’ll find New York’s top chefs and musicians mingling with football legends to celebrate food and the big game.

“The week leading up to the big game will be historic for New Yorkers, as we show why this city is the center of the food, sports, and entertainment worlds,” said Lonny Sweet, creator of the 50 Yard Lounge and founder of The Connect Group.

Food demos and activities will be available for VIP, season ticket holders, fans and anyone else with tickets  starting from $250 per event from Jan 29 to Feb 2.

A-list food icons such as Iron Chef, Marc Forgione, Michelin-rated Michael White, Top Chef Just Desserts’ judge Johnny Iuzzini, acclaimed chef and TV personality Alex Guarnaschelli, and celebrated butcher Pat LaFrieda will showcase world-class food and drink through daily events such as: Ultimate NYC Sandwich, American Classics with A Spin, The Burger Bowl (featuring New York City’s best burgers), New York’s Best Ramen and a Steak and a Bloody Mary Brunch on gameday hosted by Batch 22.

One of the highlights will be “The Jets House at the 50 Yard Lounge,” which will serve as the team’s official hospitality venue. Here  season ticket holders and team partners will be able to gather to experience all of the week’s excitement and meet players like Joe Theismann, Doug Flutie, and Hall of Famer Cris Carter along with ESPN’s Mike Golic and Mike Greenberg.

The 50 Yard Lounge spans over 15,000 square feet of heated roof decks, tented plazas, and restaurants.
