Weekly Moving Tip From Flatrate #2

FlatRate has all the resources to make sure that your move is as seamless as possible! These include great tips that you can use on your next move:

Buying/Finding Boxes:

If you have the budget, buying boxes from a moving company is ideal, as it lets you customize. You can buy the exact right wardrobe box for the hanging clothes that you have or find the perfect rolling tubes for all your vintage posters. So you can find the exact right amount of boxes you need. If you need to find boxes on the cheap, or for free (even better), check out local liquor stores first. They tend to have the stronger boxes and minimal food-related stains, since they take in shipments of heavy bottles and not greasy foodstuffs. Also, the urban legend is that McDonald’s fry boxes are the strongest free containers you can finagle (depending on your relationship with your local Mickey D’s manager.). Or you can use social media and sites like Craigslist to find people in your neighborhood that have just moved and want to get rid of gently used boxes.
