Join Time Out New York and the Food Bank for New York City as they host the 12th annual “Time Out for Hunger” event! On Sunday, March 29th, invite your friends and family and dine at over 70 participating restaurants and raise money for hunger relief.  10 percent of your bill will be donated to the Food Bank for New York City.

Time Out New York created the initiative in 2004 in partnership with the Food Bank for New York City — the city’s major hunger relief organization working to end hunger throughout the five boroughs — as a way to help combat hunger while encouraging New Yorkers to simply do what they do best: dine out at their favorite restaurant.

Every dollar raised through the program will help feed New Yorkers in need, and will provide enough food for five meals. “Time Out for Hunger” helps provide support for the 1.5 million New Yorkers who rely on the Food Bank’s programs and services, including one in five children. Many New York families suffered as a result of November 2013 cuts to SNAP (formerly known as food stamps), with more than 134 million meals lost.  By participating in this event, you can help give back to food pantries and soup kitchens who have suffered from a lack of adequate food supply.

For a complete list of participating restaurants, please visit the Food Bank for New York City.
