2014 Native Art Market

The National Museum of the American Indian in downtown New York is set to host the 2014 Native Art Market from December 6th to 7th from 10am to 5pm each day. The event is free and will be held in the Diker Pavillion on the first floor of the museum located at One Bowling Green. The Art Market brings many of the best well-known and up-and-coming contemporary Native artists to New York City. The breadth of talent runs a wide gamut from jewelry makers, basket and traditional weavers, sculptors, ceramic artisans and more.

A ticketed preview party will be held December 5th from 4-7:30pm featuring the opportunity to meet the artists, purchase early, sample Native American influenced food and drink, go on museum gallery tours, including the newest exhibition, “Glittering World: Navajo Jewelry of the Yazzie Family,” and to attend the art talk, Sustainability in Native Art & Design.
