Spring/Summer Concerts To Attend

Concerts are the epitome of a memorable evening. We all know the feeling too well, the atmosphere that radiates from the crowd, the buzz leading up to the artists arrival, and screaming lyrics at the top of your lungs. The entire experience is euphoric. This spring and summer, some of the best concerts are happening right within the NYC area. Though don’t miss out on a night of infinite fun: buy your tickets early! Some of the most talented artists are putting on shows and touring from May to June and based on their popularity, tickets are selling fast. Secure your seats now and have an event to count down to for the next couple of months. These are the top spring/summer concerts to attend:

Ed Sheeran: On May 29th at Forest Hills Stadium in Queens, Ed Sheeran will be performing a combination of his two acclaimed albums, + and x. Known for his soulful performances, Sheeran will take the stage at 7:30, though doors open at 6 p.m. He’s praised for his captivating live vocals through a blended genre of folk and hip hop. The only accompaniment on stage is his guitar, but that’s all anyone needs with a chilling voice like his.

Governors Ball: The annual Governors Ball is pricier than your typical concert ticket, but it’s worth it with a lineup of over 50 performers. Some of the industries biggest names will be headlining such as Drake, Lana Del Rey, Florence and the Machine, The Black Keys and a bunch more. The festival is three days long and the purchase of a ticket grants you access to each day.  Tickets are sold as general admission or VIP, though the VIP ticket holders have special access to the air conditioned lounges, as well as drinks. The festival will be held at Randall’s Island Park on June 5th, 6th and 7th.

Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga: Coined as the queen of pop, Lady Gaga will be accompanied by Tony Bennett, a legend in classical music, jazz, and show tunes. The duo make for a dynamic pair with insane vocals, recently releasing a collaborative album titled ‘Cheek to Cheek’.They’ll be performing their combined classic jazz standards at Radio City Music Hall on June 19th at 8 p.m. This venues acoustic properties in combination with Gaga and Bennett’s vocals may just be near magical.

Farmborough Festival: Strap on the cowboy boots because this one is for all the country music enthusiasts. New York City is bringing up the south with a three day event at Randall’s Island. Held on June 26th, 27th and 28th, the Farmborough Festival will feature three primary country artists. Some of the biggest names in country like Brad Paisley, Luke Bryan, and Dierks Bentley will headline the festival, while the rest of the lineup is extensive with over 20 other groups and artists.

Slash: Get ready for some serious head banging and hair flinging with Slash’s heavy metal, hard rock guitar solos. He’ll be firing up the crowd at Terminal 5 in NYC on May 7th at 7 p.m.  The former lead guitarist of Guns n’ Roses has been listed on top 100 lists for guitar solos and riffs. Time placed him as runner-up on their list of ten Best Electric Guitar Players in 2009. While also topping lists for Guitar World, Total Guitar and Rolling Stone. This Rock and Roll Hall of Famer is a legendary guitarist with years of expertise and skill. Tickets are on sale beginning today!
