New Yorkers are known for loving the true grit associated with city life. Rarely do they look towards the suburbs and feel envious. When it comes to fashion, commerce, and business, New York City has its outlying neighbors beat in everything, except when it comes to parks.

While NYC is home to countless playgrounds and allotted acres of parks, it hardly seems like enough. With the ever growing population in Manhattan and the high influx of families moving into residential neighborhoods, the demand for parks and playgrounds is more necessary now than ever. Luckily, New York City Parks and Recreation Commissioner, Mitchell J. Silver, and Pratt’s Programs for Sustainable Planning and Development in The School of Architecture are partnering up to inform the public on what’s next in New York City’s park development.

Interested Manhattanites can attend the “Planning for Parks: What’s Next?” free lecture event to gain more insight on how Commissioner Silver envisions planning Manhattan’s urban landscape with his signature emphasis on environment, economy, and equity.
This informative lecture is set to take place on Wednesday, November 12th at 6PM at Pratt Institute’s Memorial Hall on 200 Willoughby Avenue in Brooklyn. Seating reservations are required as space is limited.
