The New York Pops 32nd Birthday Gala

NEW YORK POPS  2On May 4th, the New York Pops Gala featured stars from the stage and screen to honor Kathleen and Rob Marshall, as well as Carrie and Ted Pryor and Greenwich Harbor Partners. The acclaimed New York Pops is the largest independent pops orchestra in the United States and the only professional symphonic orchestra in New York City specializing in popular music. The gala also celebrated The Pops’ 32nd birthday. The night began with a concert at Carnegie Hall where Broadway stars such as Laura Benanti, Alan Cumming, Sutton Foster and Victor Garber honored the Marshalls’ repertoire. Queen Latifah also joined the lineup.

The gala also featured students from The New York Pops’ Kids On Stage program, performing alongside the orchestra musicians. Children of the Ronald McDonald House New York and Camp Broadway Kids also made an appearance at the performance. The night was a beautiful celebration of the performers and honoree’s talents. The night concluded with a beautiful, elegant reception at The Mandarin Oriental New York, with amazing views of Columbus Circle.
