Medifast Inc., a leading weight-loss and healthy living manufacturer/programer has launched a new line of products that aid in sports nutrition. The “Dual Fuel” products help replenish your body after a workout. The bars and ready-to-drink shakes contain the ideal amounts of carbohydrates, protein and healthy ingredients to nourish your body after being active. The bars are currently offered in two flavors; Peanut Butter Fudge and Double Chocolate.
The product line is also partnering with Rutgers University and The V Foundation for Cancer Research, one of the nations leading cancer research funding organizations.
“With the launch of our new sports nutrition product line, we’re targeting athletes and the active lifestyle consumer,” said Medifast Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Michael MacDonald in a press release. “With the help of out partners– The V Foundation for Cancer Research and Rutgers University, we have created something particularly special. Having played basketball for Rutgers and developed a friendship with Jim Valvano, this is a very meaningful launch.”
The line was celebrated through an event at Chelsea Piers‘ Sports Center where guests got to sample the Dual Fuel products and shoot hoops. For every basket made, $100 was donated back to The V Foundation.
