An exciting new culinary venture is taking place at the South Street Seaport! The Howard Hughes Corporation has introduced a new project that will bring a flagship restaurant and a 40,000 square-foot marketplace to the neighborhood starting in 2017. World famous French chef, Jean-Georges Vongerichten, and his business partner, Phil Suarez, have agreed to this extraordinary project. The marketplace will be located inside the Tin Building at Pier 17 and will be reminiscent of the original Fulton Fish Market. The restaurant located on the second floor of the building will feature casual dining.

Vongerichten began his culinary studies in France and then continued in Asia. His innovativeness is renowned throughout Manhattan.

This project is part of a continued attempt to bring more exciting cultural enterprises to the South Street Seaport. Although Vongerichten already has many other restaurants in New York, it is expected that this particular project will have a major impact to the downtown area.
