The 2017 Retail Market Guide is a look book featuring demographics, maps and highlights of the major retail development projects in Lower Manhattan. Released by the Downtown Alliance, the 2017 Retail Market Guide features a lot of great statistics. As a few examples:

  • Over the past five years, 3,500 housing units became available and 2,200 hotel rooms opened up in Lower Manhattan.
  • Nearly three million square feet of new and repositioned retail and dining options will be coming to Lower Manhattan by 2019.
  • The annual spending power of the Lower Manhattan market is $7.1 billion.
  • 5.3 million people live within a 10-minute walk of a subway station that provides access to Lower Manhattan.
  • Lower Manhattan’s young professionals spend nearly $1,000 on dining and entertainment.
