Urbanites that are looking for a spot to enjoy food, atmosphere and nightlife need to head to the Lower East Side and check out Hotel Chantelle. This bar/restaurant/event space is 1940’s Parisian-themed and can satisfy the tastes of almost anyone looking for a fun night out, from scenic meals on their rooftop to dark and sensual nights out in their underground nightclub, Bonbonniere. Discretely located on Ludlow St. in the lower east side, the interior of the space is filled with diverse amenities from the grand parisian decor, to the green, lamp post-laden rooftop. They also host an array of themed and seasonal events for soirée-seekers. We asked Hotel Chantelle what New Yorkers can look forward to, when stopping by for a meal or a night out:

1.What kind of events usually take place at Hotel Chantelle?

We have a wide array of private events that span across the entire venue, from movie premiere after parties, to company launches, hosted dinners, art events, etc. We also have some re-occurring seasonal weekly events, each with different themes. For example, on Sundays we host a sunset party on the rooftop featuring Brazilian music, Tuesdays we have our Tuesday Night Social with live jazz from Dandy Wellington, and on Wednesdays we are our starting up our Maine-style Lobster Bakes again beginning May 13th.

2.What can individuals who are coming to dine on the rooftop expect as opposed to individuals who are coming for the lounge/ nightlife?

Dining on the rooftop brings diners an outdoor feel in a very food-focused environment. The rooftop is retractable so it’s a perfect place to go year-round. During the winter months, we keep it closed and when it snows it feels like you’re in the middle of a snow globe, and then during the warm-weather months, we retract the roof to let the sun and breeze give people a sense of outdoors. Guests having brunch or dinner can experience Executive Chef Seth Levine’s whimsical menu in a trendy and relaxed, yet sophisticated atmosphere. After dinner, we transform the rooftop and lobby into a bottle service nightclub. The venue becomes a three-story nightclub including Bonbonniere (the name of the nightclub in the lower level), the lobby and rooftop- all featuring different types of music on each floor.

3.Can people look forward to anything new and fun happening at Hotel Chantelle this Spring?

Now that the weather is nicer, and people want to be out and about more, we launched our new spring/summer weekly programming. We launched our Sunday Sunset Parties featuring Brazilian music on the rooftop as well as the Wednesday Lobster Bakes. We are also excited to announce that Hotel Chantelle will be opening up our second location in London later this month.

4. Does the space’s location in downtown Manhattan positively affect its business?

Yes, I think the Lower East Side is a great location for our business. Ludlow Street was underdeveloped before us, and we saw a major opportunity in building in that area. So we invested in a rooftop venue in a neighborhood that didn’t have one, and we were right in doing so. The Lower East Side is also filled with so much cultural diversity, and creative fresh ideas with tons of new developments and hospitality concepts in the area. People from all over the tri-state area are flocking to the LES now to see what’s new and exciting down there. The neighborhood is more open and inviting for people to want to hangout.

So out of all the prospective nightlife in the Lower East Side, few promise the options and atmosphere that this Hotel Chantelle does. So those who are eager to enjoy the nice weather with a cocktail in hand should head over to this exciting space to see where the night takes them.
