“It was a thrill to take part in such a high level event with some of the most gifted and tough competitors the world has to offer,” Hirschfeld said.

Hirschfeld has steadily climbed the ladder in the triathlon community since taking up the sport 30 years ago at the age of 35.

He has performed in more than 80 triathlons, improving with every competition and even celebrating his 40th birthday by competing in the vaunted Ironman World Championship in Kona, Hawaii. In 2009, he competed in the  Maccabiah Games in Israel.

“My love of sport has undoubtedly changed my life for the better, and I hope the experiences and resources I share here will help others enjoy sports,” Hirschfeld said.
