Gurney’s Montauk Resort to Host Foodie Event Memorial Day Weekend

For New Yorkers, vacating the city and heading to the beach for Memorial Day weekend is compulsory. Some are unwavering in their commitment to East Hampton, others are steadfast on spending the three-day break fishing and hanging around Gosman’s in Montauk. Whatever your ritual may be, this year there is a new event that is worth checking out.

LDV Hospitality, a New York-based culinary group, has collaborated with Gurney’s Montauk Resort & Seawater Spa to launch five unique food and drink concepts. LDV will use Gurney’s 11 acres of private beach to sample the new brands for New Yorkers, as well as visiting foodies. Here are introductions to the five concepts:

Tillie’s: You can stop by Tillie’s summer preview any time over the weekend, as they will be the only concept sampling brunch, lunch and dinner. The eatery specializes in comfort food—and is rumored to be incorporating Gurney’s famous burger and a farm stand-inspired brunch into their menu.

The Beach Club at Gurney’s: Think champagne, lobster rolls and sand. This Gurney’s branch will display their new summer menu of seafood dishes—but there will also be a beach bar and DJ entertainment on Saturday. If you need a break from walking around, you can also stop by their setup to rest, as there will be beach chairs and daybeds.

Scarpetta Beach: Scarpetta Beach is reputable for their Italian food, but this weekend expect to try locally inspired dishes as well. They will also be using the Gurney’s event for their Grand Opening and serve dinner nightly starting at 5:00 p.m. Expect to sample a selection of seafood paired with their original Italian wine list.

Corso Coffee: Stop by Corso Coffee in the beginning of the day, or for a late afternoon pick-me-up. This concept is a staple of Gurney’s, as it is open year-round from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. daily. They will sample handcrafted, wood-roasted Tuscan espresso, but are also prominent for their American beans roasted locally in Long Island City.

The Regent Cocktail Club: This concept will be using the weekend at Gurney’s to sample their craft cocktails for the first time. Managing partner, Master Catinero Julio Cabrera will be at the event, which will start at 9:oo p.m. every night at the Fire Pit and conclude inside The Regent Cocktail Club. End your night here.
