Here are some exciting events and sites to check out in downtown New York this week, courtesy of Gogobot. Visit the website or download the app for more GoGo This Week upcoming events.

1. Honey Week

Check site for locations and times

Tues, Sept 8th-Sun, Sept 13th

Things are going to get very sweet (and possibly sticky) during NYC’s Honey Week. With events across the city and the boroughs, honey lovers can enjoy honey tastings and pairings, cocktails, honey-inspired specialty meals, beekeeping tips, DIY honey beauty workshops and more. Don’t miss the all-day beachside Honey Fest at the Rockaways, where you can enjoy all things golden, or at least two: honey and the sun. FREE and paid events.

2. A Portrait of Paterson

Sasha Wolf Gallery (Lower East Side)

Opening Sun, Sept 13th from 3-6pm. Throught Sun, Oct 25th

This moving solo exhibition documents the human impact of the economic decline on the once booming city of Paterson, NJ. Using natural light, Tema Stauffer captures the struggle and resilience of her subjects. The honesty and intimacy of her photos is a testament to Tema’s sensibility and perception of what is uniquely human in an otherwise industrial landscape. Don’t miss this show! FREE

3. Feast of San Gennaro

Mulberry Street (Little Italy)

Thurs, Sept 10th-Sun, Sept 20th

Sun-Thur 11:30am-11:30pm Fri-Sat 11:30am-12am

The Feast of San Gennaro, now in its 89th year, is the OG of Italian street festivals. This year, there will be the traditional blessing of the statue, a procession, an opera performance, Doo Wop bands, a Frank Sinatra tribute, and a cannoli and pizza eating contest, respectively.  And, of course, a ton of those sausage and zeppole stands we all love to hate but can’t stay away from. Best part? The Grand Marshal this year is Tony Danza… don’t act like you don’t who he is. FREE

4. Have a Ball!

455 Broadway, 5th floor (Soho)

Mon-Fri 10am-5pm through Sept 21st

Think back to the indoor playgrounds at Chuck E. Cheese’s or McDonald’s… you, freestyling in a pool of plastic balls, friends at your side, not a care in the world. Pearlfisher, the creative agency behind JumpIn!, wants adults to relive the joy and “transformative power” of play with its huge ball pit installation filled with 81,000 white plastic balls. Bring your friends and JumpIn! FREE 30 min dives with RSVP.

5. Tennis Anyone?

East River Park (Kips Bay)

Daily from 8am-3pm

It’s no surprise the US Open takes place in September–the weather is fabulous, usually… And, since all anyone ever talks about this time of year is tennis, it’s time we hit the courts and get in on the action. No need to sign up for membership at the East River Park when single-play one-hour tickets are just $15. With 12 court, a full waterfront view and cool breeze, the ball will always be in your court. Make sure to reserve your spot online.
