Gogobot is an innovative planning tool that tailors recommendations for places to stay, eat and play to your specific tastes. It also allows you to share your great experiences with people who have the same interests as you; people in your “tribes”. Gogobots ‘GoGo This Week’ feature empowers you to discover and take advantage of great events, openings and exhibits throughout the city each week. Here are some exciting events and sites to check out in downtown New York this week, courtesy of Gogobot. Visit the website or download the app for more GoGo This Week upcoming events.
1. Restaurant Week

Check site for participating restaurants

Mon, Jan 18th-Fri, Feb 5th

Restaurant week gives New Yorkers and visitors a chance to dine at restaurants that would normally be reserved for very special occasions. With lunch and dinner deals this sweet, every day is going to be a celebration. There are many great spots across the city, but we are making special trips to Narcissa, Gaonnuri, ABC Cocina, Little Park and The Palm Court.

2. Outsider Art

Metropolitan Pavilion (Chelsea)

Thur, Jan 21st-Sun, Jan 24th (check site for times)

Sometimes coloring outside the lines makes for great (and some would argue pure) art. The Outsider Art Fair brings together artists from across the world  who share one defining quality: the guts to march to the beat of their own drum.

3. Wine Days

City Winery (West Village)

Sat, Jan 23rd from 1-4pm

35 Pinot producers from California, New Zealand and Oregon will be offering over 100 boutique pinot wines for seasoned and budding wine enthusiasts. Yup, this is how you want to spend your Saturday afternoon.

4. NY Street Photography

Salomon Arts Gallery (Tribeca)

Through Thurs, Jan 21st

The photography exhibit “NYC Streets Then and Now” chronicles the ongoing evolution of NYC streets, the people and moments that have come to define them. No need to read history books when works from Clayton Patterson, Robert Herman, Sue Kwon, Khalik, Flo Fox, Allah, Destiny Mata and many more will show goers that real New York history is in the city’s streets.

5. New Porc City

Pier 60 (Chelsea)

Sun, Jan 24th at 5pm

Five New York Chefs will be preparing over 36 pork (heritage breed pigs) based dishes at this one of a kind culinary feast, (with an afterparty to follow)! Each delicious dish will be carefully paired with wines, brews and spirits, making this a truly all inclusive experience. We have one piece of advice, come very very hungry.
