1. Kinky Films
Anthology Film Archives (East Village)
Tues, Mar 1st-Sun, Mar 6th (Check site for showtimes)

The Kinky Film Festival, now in its 13th year, asks viewers to explore the “wide diversity of sexuality” and desire. On the roster are documentaries, dramas, comedies and art house films that cut across orientations and range from mild to very spicy!

2. Cocktails & Bites
La.venue (Chelsea)
Thurs, Mar 3rd from 6-9pm

You better believe we’ll be in good spirits at Edible Manhattan’s cocktail extravaganza! This tasting event will serving up our all-time favorite cocktails and turning us on to new ones from some of the top mixologists in the drink game. Drinks will be perfectly paired with gourmet bites.

3. Talib Kweli
Bluenote (West Village)
Wed, Mar 2nd-Thurs, Mar 3rd at 8pm and 10pm sets

A Brooklyn native, Talib Kweli’s engaging and socially conscious lyrics have earned him a legion of fans and serious respect from fellow musicians and activists. It would be a great loss to miss his two-day residency at the Bluenote where he’ll perform with a live band.

4. Mike Birbiglia Jokes
Culture Project (East Village)
Through Sun, Mar 13th (Check site for performance times)

You can expect nothing less that an intelligent and hilarious show from Mike Birbiglia. In “Thank God for Jokes,” he covers both personal and global topics that will have audiences doubling over in laughter… and deep thought.

5. Circus Chaos
NYU Skirball Center for Performing Arts (Greenwich Village)
Wed, March 9th-Sun, March 13th

Hard to imagine piles of old, precariously placed furniture as the backdrop for a circus theater performance, and yet “L’Immédiat” does exactly that. The agile performers navigate these disastrous labyrinths of movables to prove that humanity and humor triumph even in the face of total chaos.

6. Cats and Tea
Little Lions (SoHo)
Mon-Sun 10am-8pm

And New York now has a third cat cafe! We are partial to Little Lions for its serious focus on cats (cute and always adoptable) and fancy tea. There is a long list of fine teas served in cute feline inspired cups as you wait for your much needed cat time. Reservations required for cat time only.

7. Guys Paint Night
Baked (Tribeca)
Tues, Mar 1st at 6pm

Presented by Guy Social, the Guys Paint Night is a gay social, drinking and painting event series that invites guys to get creative and perhaps find that special muse… The social workshop is for all levels. Supplies are included as well as the live fine arts instructor. Hosted by Jared Bradford and Joey Israel.
