Gogobot’s ‘GoGo This Week’ feature empowers you to discover and take advantage of great events, openings and exhibits throughout the city each week. Here are some exciting events and sites to check out in downtown New York this week, courtesy of Gogobot. Visit the website or download the app for more GoGo This Week upcoming events.

1. New York City Beer Week
Events throughout the city (check site for locations)
Fri, Feb 19th-Sun, Feb 28th (check site for event times)

New York will spend 10 days celebrating craft beer! There will be many tasting events, tap takeovers, beer centered dinners, beer cruises, beer trivia and historical tours/ lectures. Whether you are a beer enthusiast, lover or afficionado, New York City Beer Week will have plenty to whet your craft beer appetite.

2. High Society Party
Exhibit. C (Lower East Side)
Thurs, Feb 18th from 7pm-2am

For a night of culinary, auditory and visual extravagance, our pick is Exhibit C.’s High Society dinner and afterparty. Fancy dishes prepared by the stunning haute chef Daphne Cheng and music by The Misshapes, Brendan Fallis, Ibe Soliman and PS1, will set your fancy threads on fire! Seven course dinner with wine and champagne, with after party. See you there, darling!

3. Frigid Festival
Under St. Marks and Kraine Theater (East Village)
Feb, 16th-Sun, Mar 6th (Check site for showtimes)

Here is why we love Frigid Festival: we get to see intelligent, thought-provoking independent theater; it’s super affordable; and, theater companies take home 100% of box office sales. Now that’s what we call art by the people for the people!

4. Battery Park Run
Community Center at Stuyvesant High School (Battery Park)
Thurs, Feb 18th from 7-7:45 pm

Had too many chocolates this Valentine’s Day? Well, fret not, every Thursday the Battery Park City Running club meets for a 45 min waterfront run, and we are pretty sure you won’t be the only chocolate sinner in their ranks. FREE

5. Button Art
Rush Arts Gallery (Chelsea)

Wed -Sat from 12-6 pm (through Sat, Mar, 12th)
We don’t generally associate buttons with art, save for our elementary school days when we’d use them to make eyes in art class, but the exhibition “The Button Show” has us seeing buttons in a whole new light. Repurposed and reimagined, buttons are transformed into contemporary art pieces that are at once familiar and otherworldly, especially the work of Lisa Kokin.

6. How To Work Better
Mott St and Houston (SoHo)
Through Sun, May 1st

For a little inspiration on your walk through SoHo, make sure to swing by Mott Street and Houston where you will find a Peter Fischli and David Weiss hand painted wall mural entitled “How to Work Better”. These 10 simple steps will make you more productive, and probably an all around better person. Should you want to see more, we also recommend checking out the survey of the duo’s long time collaboration at Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum.
