RAISES 500K

Famed comedienne, Caroline Rhea served as Mistress of Ceremonies; the event was co- chaired by Jasmine Barr, Kira Faiman and Sari Sloane Keledjian.

Guests included Lisa Blau, Kerianne Flynn, Laurie Gelman, Libi Gerson, Kimberly Kravis, Katie Lee, Juliette Longuet, Christine Lemieux, Julie Macklowe, Vanessa Nadal, Purvi Padia, Diana Picasso, Barbara Clark-Ruiz, Jackie Sackler, Peggy Siegal, Amber Tolliver, Girls Inc. New York Executive Director – Pam Marlado and joined by board members – Courtney Adante, Elaine Ball, Cecile Gyles, Angie Karna, Camille Mantelin and Kyung- Ah Park.

The program included lunch for 330 guests, the presentation of the 2016 ‘Leadership’ and ‘Corporate Leadership’ awards respectively to Stephanie Ruhle and Kirkland Ellis LLC. The event also celebrated the achievements of young women citywide, including Ivette Morales and Gisselle Yepes who are testaments to the success of Girls Inc. Their impassioned speeches were followed by a live auction.

The live auction included a ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’ package donated by the famed jewelry retailer for six people, a gourmet meal for four prepared by Katie Lee at her Hamptons home (sold twice over), a Tracy Anderson six-month membership along with a private training session and two sets of coveted ‘Hamilton’ show tickets and individual year sponsorships of Girls Inc. girls. Favors were provided by Cos Bar and INTERMIX. The event raised over $500,000 that will help further the organization’s mission to advocate for and improve the lives of under-served girls aged 6-18 throughout New York City.

Downtown Magazine CEO/Publisher Grace A. Capobianco was also in attendance for the event.

“I was honored to attend the Girls Inc. annual luncheon and moved as each girl spoke of their personal growth and experience from this extraordinary organization,” explains Capobianco. “Downtown Magazine is looking forward to working with Girls Inc. as one of our special charities”
