From the producers of La Nuit en Rose, Able Social will bring dozens of French winemakers to NYC this April for two distinct tasting events celebrating Corsica and Bordeaux, giving New Yorkers a chance to sip exclusive vintages and mix and mingle with some of France’s hottest winemakers.
“Being #2” by Wines of Corsica is the second annual event celebrating the burgeoning winemaking region of the gorgeous Corsican island. Nestled beneath Italy and France, this French island has been making wine for 2500 years but is becoming more and more known for their roses and crisp whites as of late. This two day event Thursday April 21st and Friday April 22nd marries wine and art at the Joseph Gross Gallery in Chelsea. Tickets are $45 for VIP and $35 for GA and attendees will not only be able to sip a variety of wines from 11+ wineries and nosh on bites from local food purveyors (think cheese and oysters), but the event will also feature art exhibits from two Corsican artists, an objective photographer, Jean-Joseph Renucci, who’s known for his little people situational photography, and filmmaker Jérôme Jouve who will be featuring a video installation of how important the land is to the Corsican winemakers and artisans. Tickets can be purchased here.
Le Grand Cercle is back for the fourth year in NYC celebrating the most elite winemakers of France’s famed Bordeaux region. This exclusive group of winemakers will travel here to debut their 2015 en primeur vintage and several others before that during a one-night-only event at Pier A down in Battery Park. The evening will be paired with light bites from local food purveyors and for the first time ever, attendees can actually purchase wine at the event directly from these winemakers. Who needs a plane trip and a passport when the most prestigious chateaux of Bordeaux are coming to the Big Apple? Tickets can be purchased here ($55 for VIP and $45 for GA).
