This weekend, Randall’s Island is getting ready to welcome a much different crowd as NYC prepares to welcome country music lovers from all over to the city’s first ever country music festival: The FarmBorough Country Music Festival.

Coming three weeks after the successful Governors Ball, Founders Entertainment (who also organizes Governors Ball) has created a first for the New York in the form of the FarmBorough Festival. It is quite a jump to hold a country music festival in New York, however, country music has definitely seen growth in parts of the country where it was once considered the outcast music genre. With the success of the Taste of Country music festival held in the Catskills and the sold out shows of artists such as Luke Bryan and Kenny Chesney within recent years, some may be wondering why it took as long as it did to bring country to NYC.

The festival starts today, and will run until Sunday, June 28. Each day, there is a main headliner, with associated acts scheduled to play on two separate stages throughout the day. The headliners include Dierks Bentley to kick things off on Friday, Brad Paisley on Saturday, and Luke Bryan closing out the festival on Sunday. For the full lineup and schedule, you can check it out here.

For more information on the festival, tickets, and how to get to Randall’s Island, be sure to check out the official FarmBorough website. You won’t want to miss a flannel filled, beer drinking and NYC goes country weekend!

Also, be sure to stay tuned for our coverage of the festival all weekend long!
