Egg Rolls and Egg Creams Festival Now Features Empanadas!

by | May 26, 2015 | Coming Up, Culture, Events

This year patrons can enjoy Chinese opera, klezmer, salsa, and plena music; Yiddish, Mandarin and Spanish lessons; Hebrew and Chinese scribal art, Puerto Rican mask making, mah jongg and, of course, egg rolls, egg creams and empanadas. You don’t want to miss New York City’s best block party where three important and eccentric cultures come to meet. This cross-cultural celebration of the Jewish, Chinese and Puerto Rican communities of the intricate Lower East Side neighborhood is a perfect way for all New Yorker’s to celebrate their heritage and culture together in unity.

Funding for the Egg Rolls & Egg Creams Festival is provided in part by NYC & Co. Foundation/MBPO Cultural Tourism, New York City Council/The Honorable Margaret Chin, Valley National Bank, New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in Partnership with the City Council, and New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature.

This event is free and open to the public, but donations can be submitted here. If anyone has any questions or concerns please visit eldridgestreet.org.
