DOWNTOWN Magazine is proud to offer internships to college students and recent college graduates. We are a luxury lifestyle magazine for the Downtown community, which we generally consider to be below Canal Street from river to river, with fashion coverage extending to SoHo. In addition to fashion and beauty, we also focus on food, real estate, finance, history, culture, community events and special sections. We publish quarterly: March, June, September, and December. We are able to offer internships for the fall and spring semesters as well as over-the-summer programs. All of our departments are always looking for new interns and although we have a limited number of spaces, we are always willing to try to accommodate applicants who stand out. We are looking for interns for the following sections: editorial/online, photo, fashion, design and food. Depending on the department, the duties and assignment will vary. However, all interns may sometimes be required to make pick-ups and drops offs and maintain basic clerical duties such as answering phones and keeping the office organized. But, as a small company, we are looking for interns to actively contribute to the publication and there may be writing opportunities for interns who prove their abilities. All internship positions are UNPAID, but we are able to offer college credit for your work with us.
