Lovers of chocolatey decadence, rejoice! City Bakery’s Hot Chocolate Festival is under way and there are still plenty of days left to try their many delicious flavors. Every day in February, the bakery will be serving up a new fabulous hot chocolate flavor ranging from bourbon to banana peel to chili pepper. These flavors supplement their traditional hot chocolate recipe, which is served year round. Notorious around the city for its deep cocoa flavor and thick melted-chocolate texture, the warm winter staple is delicious on its own, but made even more mouth watering with a sticky homemade marshmallow on top.

A fixture through a long history of blustery New York winters, the festival is celebrating its 24th year. The bakery also serves traditional staples with a twist like pretzel croissants and baker’s muffins, as well as sandwiches and salads. So if you are looking for an indulgent treat to brave the cold weather with or even a creative Valentines date spot, head to flatiron and try City Bakery’s flavor of the day.
