Bank of America Winter Village at Bryant Park will dedicate its annual holiday tree lighting to the fight to eradicate mother-to-child HIV transmission. This year’s event, taking place on December 2nd, will be hosted by Sara Gore, New York Live and LX TV’s Open House front woman, and will feature a line-up of stars both on and off the ice, including Billboard Hot 100 artist Ingrid Michaelson, as well as 2010 Olympic gold medalist Evan Lysacek. Bank of America will spotlight its partnership with (RED) to help raise awareness of efforts underway to move us one step closer to ending AIDS.

The Tree Lighting, now in its tenth year, will also include an ice performance by US synchronized skating champions, the Haydenettes, music from indie singer-songwriter Catey Shaw, a park-wide light show, and a special appearance from Santa Claus himself. Attendees will have a chance to celebrate a decade of free admission ice skating offered in Bryant Park by skating to the sounds of Catey Shaw, and celebrate the season with a park-wide sing-a-long led by over 100 Christmas carolers.

Says Deborah Dugan, CEO of (RED), “What an incredible way to honor Giving Tuesday and keep the spirit of World AIDS Day shining brightly this holiday season. We can’t thank Bank of America and Bryant Park enough for this wonderful opportunity.”

The Tree Lighting, beginning at six p.m., will lead up to the pinnacle lighting of the 50-foot Norway Spruce filled with over 3,000 ornaments and thousands of lights. The tree will remain lit through Jan. 11, 2015.

“This gathering welcomes New Yorkers and visitors from around the world to celebrate the holiday season together beginning with the Tree Lighting,” says Dan Biederman, President of Bryant Park Corporation. “It’s become a holiday tradition in the city and we are grateful that this year we are be able to shed light on the fight against AIDS by showing our support for (RED).”

Bank of America Winter Village at Bryant Park is a seasonal destination that features a 17,000-square-foot ice skating rink, a glass-enclosed restaurant and open-air market for holiday shopping under the glow of the city’s lights. Located at W. 40th and W. 42nd Streets between Fifth and Sixth Avenues, the holiday village is adjacent to the New York Public Library and a short walk from Times Square and Grand Central Station.
