Belmond Sanctuary Lodge: Machu Picchu’s Luxury Hotel

by | Jan 29, 2015 | Travel, Uncategorized

Want to see Machu Picchu but don’t want to travel like the Incas? Belmond Sanctuary Lodge offers luxury accommodations right next to the ancient city.

On the outside, the hotel is decorated with simple stone pillars and plants, allowing the backdrop of the haunting Machu Picchu mountain to entice you to the lodge. But after a day of exploring the ruins, guests can relax in a room of one of three types: superior rooms, deluxe mountain view rooms, and presidential suites. Some rooms even offer a furnished patio, providing customers with a more private way to enjoy the outdoors.

The hotel also offers more than just a comfy place to sleep and unwind; their Tampu Restaurant provides visitors with a taste of Peru by offering both international and Peruvian cuisine. Every night, the restaurant has a presentation to highlight the Incan ruins and the flora that surrounds it. Guests can even enjoy expertly-made pisco sours, a famous South American cocktail made with pisco, lemon juice, egg white, and  Angostura bitters.

To book a reservation or find out more about the hotel, visit their site. Presidential suites are only available upon request.
