Beer Week’s Opening Bash

Kick off your weekend with hours of unlimited beer! Next Saturday, the New York City Brewery’s Guild and New York State Brewer’s Association are starting Beer Week at the Altman Building.

For only $65, customers can sample beer from 40 different New York State Breweries at the opening event from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. (VIP ticket-holders can enter at 12 p.m.). Food vendors and celebrity chefs will provide succulent snacks throughout the night to accompany the beer. Some of the participating brewers include Brooklyn Brewery, Captain Lawrence, and City Island Brewery.

Saturday’s event will be the first of six events for Beer Week, which will go until March 1. This city-wide soiree of tastings has been held annually in New York City for six years.

The organization in charge of the week, The New York City Brewer’s Guild, is a nonprofit organization that aims to further the brewing industry and thereby lessen human misery.” By holding the event, the organization wishes to spread awareness about local beers.
